FEATURE LIST

Mobile App

DOWNLOAD THE MOBILE APP ON iOS AND ANDROID NOW!
  • View full list of tracks powered by Pro Pairings! Track list will display currently active tracks at the top, making it easy for users to tune in to the current pairings and results for the ongoing events.
  • View all currently live and past results/pairings for every track powered by Pro Pairings.
  • View round standings (W-L-Left to Run) for current and past rounds for each competitor.
  • View a list of all pair each competitor is competing in that round, which is absolutely game-changing, especially for larger events. Allows you to plan out your entire round, know when you will make runs, and know when you can go to the bathroom, go get food, maybe even go take a nap. Makes those long race days significantly more relaxing.
  • Send in your entries through the mobile app! No more paper slips, no more dealing with bad handwriting and asking what their name/car name is supposed to be, and no more typing for the race director! Racers simply tap ‘Entry Form’ on the track list for the track they are wanting to enter a race for, fill it out and tap send. The race director can then enter them into the event with a simple two clicks to confirm they are paid/entry amount etc looks all good. No more sweating and rushing to type entries all morning, only to still miss the targeted start time for the event. *Sending in buy-backs is coming soon as well*
  • Pro Pairings Power Rankings, aka Leaderboards!! Compete with racers locally and around the world on the leaderboards. Boosts interaction between tracks, racers, and even motivates racers to come out more often to improve their positioning on the leaderboards.
  • Make a Pro Pairings account! (100% optional) The name you create for your Pro Pairings account will be UNIQUE and tied to all of your entries that are sent-in OR linked via the mobile app. This will make you *verified* – no one else can have your name as a verified user. This will allow you to compete in our Verified Leaderboards on the mobile app! In the past for example, we would have 15 different Ronald’s accruing round wins for the name Ronald on the leaderboards. Now, the leaderboards are accurate and provide a fun little side competition for the racers, not only at your track, but also across the entire Pro Pairings ecosystem. Entries sent-in via the mobile app when signed into your account will automatically be linked to your account when entered, but you also have the option to request linking your account to entries that were manually entered by the race director once the race has started so that you can get credit for that race. You request a link in the standings section of the pairings on the mobile app.
  • Upgrade your account to a supporter account! A growing list of benefits, including a customizable color scheme for your name/entries on the mobile app/main pairing screen, and a completely ad-free experience on the mobile app, just $50 for an entire year!
  • Pro Pairings Log Book, very basic at the moment, designed with slot car racing in mind (and I wouldn’t want to slot car race without it again!). However, a massive expansion is in the works to include weather, ET prediction etc to expand into the big car field.

Pairing Methods

‘Random’ Pairing:

  • The pairing method algorithm has been refined over the years to create the largest variety in pairings possible while also preventing undesirable scenarios.
  • Competitors will not be paired against their own entries until there is no other possibility.
  • Competitors pairings will be spread out as much as possible via our shuffle algorithm! The algorithm is extremely in-depth and will look to create the best possible spread for pairings in each round. Competitors will have time to “cool em and fuel em” between their runs, at least as much as possible. The algorithm has even expanding into looking at double entered (or more) cars, and will make an effort to mix it up so that a competitor will not have to run the same car in back to back pairs for themselves.

Double Elimination/Loser’s Bracket Pairing:

  • Built off of community request, the double-elimination pairing method provides a different take on how a race is structured. Each entry has to lose twice to be out of the race. All entries start in the “winner’s bracket” side of the race, once an entry loses, it is sent to the next round of the “loser’s bracket” which is ran after each “winner’s bracket” round. When an entry loses on the “loser’s bracket” side, it is fully eliminated. This progresses until there is a winner of both the “winner’s bracket” and the “loser’s bracket”. The winner of both run in the final. Traditionally, to win, the “loser’s bracket” winner has to beat the “winner’s bracket” winner TWICE to win the final. However, this is left up to your choice, as you only have to click the winner once in the final.
  • Double Elimination automatically uses the Pro Pairings Random Pairing method to pair each round.

Laddering:

  • A robust and expansive list of options for laddering, it genuinely provides you with every option you could possibly need!
  • Begin laddering mid-event OR run a fully laddered event complete with qualifying rounds! Mid-event laddering is only combined with the Pro Pairings Random Pairing method style of event.
  • Pro Ladder, or Sportsman Ladder!
  • Set ladder, or re-ladder each round! If you choose to use a set ladder, once the ladder is set the first time, those qualifying positions will be used for the rest of the race. Otherwise, data will be collected reach round to ladder for the next.
  • The ladders will be built based on a list of options you can choose from. You will select a main data point (required), and will have the option to also select not just one, but two backup data points to act as tie-breakers. Your options are to ladder based on Reaction Time, Elapsed Time, MPH, and Over/Under dials. They can be combined in any way you would like.
  • For laddering mid-event, you choose when the laddering will begin using a couple options. Choose to ladder based on round number, or entries remaining. Now for example, if you choose for laddering to begin in round 5, during round 4 Pro Pairings will begin to gather the laddering data based on the critera you set for the event for all of the winners that round to form the ladder for round 5. Another piece to remember is that you CAN also have buy-backs during these events, but the moment laddering is set to begin, it is no longer possible. For example, if you choose round 2 laddering, it will gather data in round 1 and not give you the option to have buy-backs after round 1.
  • For full event laddering, you will select the number of qualifying rounds you would like to have, and you also select the limit for qualifying (for example, a 16 car field that allows more than 16 to attempt to qualify). If the limit is set to 0, then all that participate in qualifying will be laddered and compete in round 1. During the qualifying rounds, both the winner and losers data will be gathered (obviously clicking the winner is just for show, it doesn’t really do anything during qualifying rounds). Once all qualifying rounds are completed, the best qualifying run made by each entry will be utilized to build the ladder for round 1.

Creating & Managing Events

  • Create and manage an unlimited number of events at once. Switch between events at any time! Allowing you to run as many classes “at the same time” as you would like with different settings for each one! Run a laddered class, a double-elimination class, and even a regular class all at the same time in any order by switching between them at any time.
  • Add / Edit entries for any of the events at any time.
  • Displays a full entry list for the events when you click them, complete with an entry and competitor total.
  • Any event can be restarted in-progress down to the exact pair, or restarted fresh at any time.
  • Online event backups! In the case of a major mishap (hopefully never needed) every 15 minutes complete backups are made on the mobile app servers, these can be accessed by you to restart your event at any of those backup points. Never lose progress in an event.
  • Adding entries is made as easy as it can be. Enter the competitors name and then each of their entries below that….or have them utilize sending in their entries through the mobile app!
  • A competitor can have 1 entry, or up to 50 entries.
  • Competitor Database keeps track of the last entry list for each competitor and auto-fills the entries. Handy at times, but can be disabled as well.
  • Duplicate Entry button. Press the button, or the down arrow key on the keyboard to instantly duplicate the entry.
  • Auto-Entry option. Perfect for “open-box” style events, just set a number of entries for each competitor, and they will auto populate for you as you enter their name, no extra typing required.
  • Mobile sent-in entries! With a simple couple of clicks, enter competitors who sent in their entries on the mobile app with zero typing on the race directors end!

Pairings Screen

  • Selecting a winner is as easy as it can get. Either click the winner and then click confirm, or there are even hotkeys! L / R or Left / Right Arrow Keys to select the winner, and then Enter on the keyboard to confirm.
  • Manually assign Bye Runs using a list of all entries remaining in the event. Or choose to randomly assign the Bye Run. Pro Pairings will prevent the same entry from receiving the Bye Run twice unless all other remaining entries have already gotten the bye.
  • Displays the current pair and next four out in large format.
  • Displays every pair for the entire round on the right side of the screen. The winners are highlighted green on this list.
  • Displays a Results Feed at the bottom of the screen, which shows the results of the pairs, which makes it easy for competitors to make sure results are being entered correctly.
  • Displays the number of entries in the round, as well as the current pair number / total pair in the round. Rotates between that, and a large display of the current pair being ran for those a distance away from the screen. Allows you to clearly see where they are at in the round, and how long you have until your next run.
  • Edit the competitors entry names, or even their name during the event at any time.
  • Reverse the result of pairs, in case of a possible error made by the operator. This can also be done on the After Round screen.
  • Send a pair/skip a pair to the end of the round!
  • Displays your connection status to the mobile app servers at all times.
  • Displays the estimated completion time as well as the average time per pair in the bottom left corner.
  • Print list of pairings for the current round.
  • Add MID-ROUND entries. Entries can be added in the middle of a round. When the entries are added, the results are saved for the already completed pairs, and the remaining pairs are re-paired with the new entries being mixed in. Not possible during laddered rounds.
  • Displays qualifying list during laddered events.
  • Buy-backs can now be entered DURING THE ROUND! Select the buy-backs tab and you can enter buy-backs. If utilized correctly, you could seamlessly go into the next round without pausing to enter buy-backs at all.

After Round Screen

  • Displays a list of each competitors record (W-L) for the round.
  • Displays a list of every pairs result of the round.
  • Use the search function to narrow down results.
  • Reverse the result of pairs, in case of any error made. This can also be done during the round.
  • Print the round results.
  • Open and search all past round results for the current event and all others on file.
  • The After Round screen provides you with all of the tools you could possibly need to resolve any disputes and correct mistakes before moving to the next round of competition.
  • Add late entries to compete in the next round of competition.
  • Displays qualifying list during laddered events.

Buy-Backs

  • Re-entry style buy-backs. Buy-back round is ran separately and winners of the buy-back round are then mixed in with first round winners for second round.
  • Mixed style buy-backs. Buy-backs are mixed directly into second round.
  • Buy-backs are easily entered by selecting the checkmarks in a list next to each losing entry of round 1. Can also utilize some of the buy-back tools, like the select all, deselect all, and the select amount tool. The select amount tool allows you to set a number, and select that amount of entries per driver instantly which is incredible for when the specific entries selected do not matter.
  • Buy-backs can now be entered DURING THE PRIOR ROUND! On the pairing screen, select the buy-backs tab and you can enter buy-backs then. If utilized correctly, you could seamlessly go into the next round without pausing to enter buy-backs at all.

Stats / Points

  • All-Time Stats / Points
  • Weekend Stats / Points – Can create and swap events in the settings at any time.
  • Points Series – Can create and swap points series in the settings at any time. Only counts cars / entries with * in their name. For example, this allows you to have a 3 car points series, but still allow a 5 or 10 entry limit race, forcing the competitors to choose their points cars.
  • Leaderboard – Easily sort the Point/Stats to view where people stand in the points or with any of the statistics.
  • Easily edit competitors points and or stats. (Could easily begin using Pro Pairings in the middle of a points series you had already started by simply adding the points for each of the competitors manually.)
  • Merge stats. Perfect for if you accidentally enter a competitors name differently for one event. Easily merge the two names stats into one.
  • Backup stats/points series’ with the press of a button.
  • Keeps track of each competitors round wins, round losses, points, quarter-finals, semi-finals, runner-ups, event wins, bye runs, buy-backs, sweeps, and sweep points.
  • To earn a sweep, and the special sweep screen that goes along with it, a competitor must fill winner, runner-up and every semi-final spot with their own entries. Just winner and runner-up does not count as a sweep.
  • Sweep points are only earned when there is a sweep, for every entry the competitor has remaining in the race when they sweep, they receive a sweep point. For example, say a competitor sweeps the race and holds winner, runner-up, and two semi-final spots. They will receive 4 sweep points.
